Hi, my name is Sam Ramirez and this is my blog. Many of you have heard me on the radio since 1994, but I wanted to take a few moments and tell you a little bit about me.

I am lifelong resident of Sterling, IL and attended Newman Central Catholic High School (Class of 1994).  I also graduated from Sauk Valley Community College and attended Northern Illinois University.

I met my wife Carie in September of 1998 and we were married in July 2004. She has been kindergarten teacher in Dixon since 2006. We have no kids, just a Russian Toy Terrier dog named Bella.

In July of 1994, I started working here at the radio station at the age of 17. In August of 1995, I was officially hired as the radio station’s Sports Director. In my nearly 28 years here, I feel like I’ve done a little bit of everything but it was in August of 2007 that I was given the opportunity to do the morning show on River Country 101.7.
