Dixon City Departments Hold the Line During Budget Talks

The Dixon City Council continues to look at what is needed to form a city budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Monday evening the council heard from city departments and the changes and increase to their budget.  For the most part, the departments have held the line and not asked for any huge increases.

City Manager Dan Langloss pointed out that the city is currently in a revenue slowdown.  This means the city has held off on some of the hires they need.

He also said the city departments needed to make some adjustments.  While the City Fire Department did see an increase in the number of calls, this had another impact.  The city saw an increase in overtime as well as fuel and maintenance charges.

Langloss showed that the estimate for city revenue for 2025 is $15,383,000, which is less than the $16,967,000 from 2024.
