On Saturday, September 14, Ogle County Deputies responded to the intersection of Third Street and Blaine Street in Leaf River for the report of a car versus bicyclist accident.
After an initial investigation, it was learned that a westbound Chevrolet Traverse struck a northbound bicycle being operated by a 12-year-old juvenile as it crossed Third Street.
The juvenile was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Leaf River Fire and EMS assisted deputies at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation.
