The Dixon Historic Theatre announced auditions for their upcoming production of Footloose – The Musical (90-minute version)! They are looking for talented performers of all ages to bring this high-energy show to life.
Audition Dates/Times: April 25th from 4pm-9pm & April 27th from 12pm-4pm at The Dixon Historic Theatre. Performance Dates are June 19th – 22nd
WHAT TO PREPARE? VOCAL AUDITION Prepare 16-32 bars (about 1 minute) of a musical theater song in the style of Footloose (pop/rock, contemporary, or classic musical theater).
DANCE AUDITION
Be ready to learn a short Footloose-style dance combination (wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can move in). No prior dance experience is required for all roles, but some roles require strong movement skills.
ACTING AUDITION Sides from the script will be provided at auditions. Be familiar with the show’s characters and story.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays (6–9 PM) starting April 29th]. Read through: April 28th (Parents are required to stay for the first 15 minutes for anyone under 16), Tech Week: June 15th – Mandatory attendance. Performances: June 19-22
