Every year, every community has to design and approve a Fiscal Year Budget.  However, many people do not know what the money is used for.

During the Monday evening City Council meeting, Sterling City Manager Scott Schumard presented a detailed report of where the money is going.  He said the city has allocated the money so the fire and police departments could get the equipment they need.

He also spoke of several road repairs.  He said the city would be spending about $3 million for work on Wallace Street.  This is for better access to the Riverfront Park.

The big project is the road rebuild for 2nd Street.  The city is also seeking a grant for the Griswold rebuild.

Schumard also spoke of repairs and upgrades for the city owned parks.  Schumard said they have been on the back burner for years.
