With the end of the school year approaching, there was a flurry of activity at the SVCC Board of Trustees meeting held Monday night.
An election certification needed to be ratified in order to elect new board members. All current members that were up for reelection that included the board and vice chair, secretary and college treasurer, were all retained.
Frank Palumbo, an institution at Sauk passed away on March 17. He was fondly remembered by Dr. Jon Mandrell, Vice President of Academics and Student Services.
Longtime Men’s Basketball Coach Russ Damhoff who was first hired by Palumbo more than 20 years ago, gave a heartfelt and humorous sendoff for Palumbo. He was an Associate Professor of Physical Education from 1966 to 1993 and was the college’s first Athletic Director.
In other news, Madison Krum was appointed as the new Student Trustee replacing outgoing student James Curl.
