Every Community has vehicles they need to do work around the town. During the Oregon City Council meeting Tuesday evening, the members were informed the city needed to purchase three new vehicles.
One would be a Chevy Silverado 6500. This would be used for plowing. The other is a Chevy Silverado 3500. The final is a Ford F 150.
City Manager Darin DeHaan said this vehicle is needed because the crews can store their tools in the truck instead of needing to load it up.
The Council agreed they needed to act now to get the trucks at the price being asked. The cost from the Street Department would be $127,172. From the Water/Sewer Department the cost is $69,913.
DeHaan also spoke of the need to purchase two new squad cars. The estimated cost is $142,000 for both, plus equipment.
