It was determined a while back that the New Lee County Courthouse needed an upgrade that would save costs in the end.

The first step taken by the Lee County Maintenance Department is the installation of LED lights in the building.  This move, alone, is estimated to save the county $1,900 a month is electrical costs.

The other improvements at the New Lee County Courthouse includes new carpeting and painting on the fourth floor.

County Administrator Jeremy England said the county recently received a rebate of $17,000 from the Allied Project for the new lighting.  The County Maintenance is still looking for more cost savings measures said England.
