The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday; it is with deep sorrow that they announce the passing of retired Chief Deputy Larry R.Vandyke.
Chief Deputy Vandyke dedicated 20 years of service for the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff John Booker said his leadership and commitment made a lasting impact on both the deputies and the community.
Before his time with Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Deputy Vandyke worked with Henry County Sheriff’s Office, part-time with Cambridge Police Department and worked many years as Chief of Police for the City of Prophetstown.
