This cold weather can play havoc with many city water mains. One of the top fears water department crews have is going out in this weather to repair a broken water main.
Rock Falls City Administrator Robbin Blackert said crews try to stay indoors this time of year. They have more than enough indoors to do.
The city is getting prepared for projects this year. One of the projects to be completed this year are the restrooms at the RB&W Park.
The city is also getting ready for the Avenue A road rebuild. Blackert said city has the plan for the parking lot at the former Micro Industries Building that was in the downtown of Rock Falls.
She said ever since the pandemic, every community has had problems getting the materials they need. However, Blackert does not feel these delays would stop any project this year being done.
