The Autumn on Parade, held in Oregon every year, is one of the biggest events in the Sauk Valley. For Oregon, it is the biggest event of the year. The Autumn on Parade is coming soon to Oregon and they are just about ready for it.
During the Oregon City Council meeting, Mayor Ken Williams spoke about the parade. He said they are using the same route they did last year.
The mayor said he understands the residents who were upset last year when the route was changed. These residents had front yard access to the parade for years and that ended. However, the mayor called it a good trade off as 25 residents now does have access when they did not before.
The parade route had not changed for over 30 years. It was decided last year; they needed better sight lines and other aspects to provide better security. This was in response to the deadly shooting that happened during a Fourth of July Parade in Illinois a few years ago.
