The long election season will soon be over. In about 50 days, the November Election will be held.
The Lee County Election Office informed a Lee County Committee recently, they are getting ready to begin voting. The early voting would begin on September 26.
By law, the county had to send out postcards to every registered voter in the county. Over 19,000 cards were sent out. Currently, the county has received about 2000 postcards back. They said the office staff is working on the returned cards. Some of the cards are vote by mail requests while others are incorrect address notifications and the like.
On October 1, the county would be holding two election judges training times. After an effort was made earlier in the year to get new judges, they reported they have 25 new judges for this Election Day. They called this a good improvement.
